Thursday, April 12, 2012 Thursday April 12th, 2012 the Aberdeen Fire Department was alerted for an Engine to respond to assist the Abingdon Fire Company on a Dwelling Fire reported in the area of Bristol Cone Circle and Holly Oak Circle. Engine 211 (Lt. Montague) went enrout within a minute after the alert, where they and Chief 4-1 (Arrington) were advised of multiple calls, believed to be a working fire. Chief 4-1 (Arrington) arrived to find fire conditions to Side Charlie and the dwelling filled with smoke. Engine 211 arrived on Side Charlie, finding the rear of the dwelling on fire, extending up to the 2nd floor. Engine 211 deployed an 1 3/4 preconnect hose line to extinguish the fire, while Engine 1212 (APG) deployed another 1 3/4 line to Side Alpha, to assist with operations. Tower 231 (Diering) was alerted approximately 5 minutes after the intial box assignment, and asssisted with ventilation and salvage and overhaul operations. Crews were on scene approximately 40 minutes, The Maryland State Fire Marshal was requested to the scene by Chief 4-1 also.

Wednesday, April 11, 2012 The engine committee has provided the photo of new Engine 214 from the Pierce factory today.The committee is currently inspecting the unit at Pierce. Delivery should be made within the next couple of weeks.

Thursday, March 8, 2012 On March 8th, 2012 at approximately 1759 hours the Aberdeen Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident w/Rescue at 1222 Perryman Road. Engine 214 was the first unit to arrive to find a suv over the embankment, on its driver's side, into a wooded area off of Perryman Road. Engine 214 found two occupants in the vehicle; both patients had self-extricated themselves from the vehicle. Battalion Chief 2-4 requested a 2nd ambulance to the scene. Ambulance 291 arrived followed minutes later by Rescue 251, Engine 213 and Ambulance 292. Rescue 251’s crew controlled the fuel spill on the scene, also while Engine 213’s crew assisted the ambulance crews with the patient’s and packaging and loading. Battalion Chief 2-4 (Smith) held the Perryman Road command. Maryland State Police helicopter was requested to the scene, landing site adjacent to Company 2 House 4. Units cleared the scene and proceeded to the landing site to assist the ambulance crews.
