Thursday, July 15, 2010 - On Wednesday July 14th, 2010 at 1859 hours the Aberdeen Fire Department was alerted for a Building Fire at 110 South Philadelphia Boulevard. Chief 12-2 APGFD (Smith) was immediately on scene, where the address was changed to 116 South Philadelphia Boulevard (Szechuan Inn), Chief Smith advised smoke/fire showing from the roof area from a roof vent.
Engine 211 was the first unit to arrive,deploying a 1 3/4 handline to Side Alpha of the building, finding heavy smoke and fire conditions in the kitchen area. Engine 212 was the next unit to arrive, followed by Engine 514 (Susquehanna Hose Company), where they laid from the next closest hydrant approximately 900' of 5" hose.
Engine 213/Engine 512/Truck 1231 (APGFD) were the next units to arrive assiting the interior crews in extinguishment and opening up.
Other units on scene, Engine 214, Engine 215, Tower 231, Brush 241, Utility 271 and Medic 291
Batallion Chief 2-1 held the South Philadelphia Boulevard Command (D. Budnick)
The Maryland State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause which is still under investigation.
