AFD Responds to MVC w/Rescue

On Friday Febuary 5th, 2010 at 1511 the Aberdeen Fire Department was alerted for a MVC w/Rescue w/Trauma Arrest on Paradise Road and the Interstate 95 Overpass.

Chief 2 was immediately on the air, where he was advised of a mini-van underneath of a dump truck.  Medic 291 and R-251 responded immediately.  Upon units going enroute dispatch came back and advised Chief 2 of multiple patients, where Chief 2 then requested a 2nd and 3rd due medic unit.

Personnel on scene advised incoming crews that the dashbord needed to be removed and also the roof be removed to extricate the patients.

Crews arrived on scene, confirming rescue and Chief 2 immediately requested aviation if available due to the weather conditions deterioated.

Extrication was complete in approximately 15 minutes, patients were transported to various hospitals.  At 1540 the AFD was then alerted for a Dwelling Fire in the 211 box area, it was found to be good intent.
